Bernino Red Wine

Grapes:
70% Sangiovese various clones, 30% Canaiolo, Malvasia, Colorino are the wines produced by the selected red grapes cultivated in the vineyard.
Vineyards Technical Information:
- Vineyards are on hills facing south-east.
- Average altitude: 200 mts (660 ft) a.s.l.
- Soil composed of a particular kind of clay called "castagnina" (chestnut).
- Method of cultivation "filare a capovolto" (to overturn).
Winemaking method:
- Grapes are hand picked for best selection.
- Traditional winemaking and fermentation is done in typical wooden tubs.
- The wine is later transferred to Tuscan oak barrels.
- One month later, an additional hand picking of grapes is done. A process known as "governo toscano", which is a selection of aged grapes to produce a concentrated grape juice rich in flavors, color and alcohol.
- This wine is aged for 2 years in oak barrels and is then bottled.
Tasting notes:
Wine has a deep ruby color to it. It has a pleasant fruity, floral scent. Wild red and black berries tastes are intertwined. Once the wine is left to breathe after opened, there emerges a delicate, yet spicy taste…the tanning flavor is well integrated. The wine has an excellent structure, round, very pleasant and harmonic to the palate.
